Bluhm, Founder/CEO of K9 Quilt of Honor, K9Quilt@outlook.com, 863.999.5648 It all started with Kobi, a K9 deputy who retired from the Indian River County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office during the height of the pandemic when law enforcement faced major challenges in June 2020. Carolyn felt someone needed to tell Deputy Kobi (K9) and Sgt. Bryan (handler), some people still respected and valued their service. That’s how the “K9 Quilt of Honor" was born. The Mounted Quilt of Honor was added in July 2024 when a United States Army retiring soldier from Fort Riley’s Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard. The “K9 Quilt of Honor” program is a service provided by CERT Ministry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in the State of Florida.
