NAPLES, Fla. — Ambrosi & Sons, an Italian specialty retail store and wine bar focused on authentic culinary traditions, has opened at the Shoppes at Vanderbilt, introducing a new destination for artisanal food and boutique wines in Southwest Florida.

Located at 2343 Vanderbilt Beach Road, the concept blends a curated Italian marketplace with a relaxed wine bar, offering guests access to products sourced from small, family-owned producers across Italy. The store emphasizes authenticity, craftsmanship and regional heritage, while presenting a modern interpretation of Italy’s culinary culture.

Owner Rudy Ambrosi said the vision behind the concept is rooted in connection and shared experience.

“At Ambrosi & Sons, we believe that great food and wine come from passionate farmers, artisans and vintners who dedicate themselves to quality and authenticity,” Ambrosi said. “Our goal is to create a space where people can connect over a glass of wine and experience the diversity of Italian cuisine.”

The Ambrosi family’s ties to Italy—particularly the regions of Trentino and Sardinia—serve as the foundation of the brand. Through longstanding relationships with producers, the store offers access to boutique wines and specialty items often unavailable outside Italy or select fine-dining establishments.

The retail selection includes extra virgin olive oils, aged balsamic vinegars, specialty pastas, cheeses, risotto rice and San Marzano tomatoes, along with charcuterie and pantry staples. Signature offerings feature boutique Italian wines, artisan ravioli and imported dry goods sourced directly from Italy.

Ambrosi & Sons also highlights rare and traditional ingredients such as guanciale, Umbrian lentils, Puglian taralli and artisanal flours—products that are often difficult to find in conventional retail settings.

In addition to its food and wine offerings, the business continues a five-generation family tradition of knife sharpening, a craft dating back to the early 1900s in New York’s Lower East Side.

The wine bar serves a rotating selection of nearly 20 Italian wines by the glass, supported by a dispensing system that allows guests to sample tasting pours or full servings. The program focuses on small producers and natural growing practices, encouraging exploration of lesser-known regions and varietals.

The concept also embraces Italy’s aperitivo culture, combining education with a social atmosphere designed to foster community and conversation.

Looking ahead, Ambrosi & Sons plans to expand its offerings to include house-made items such as fresh pasta, prepared foods and grab-and-go selections.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A wine club with tiered memberships is expected to launch soon, offering access to limited-production wines and seasonal releases.

Ambrosi & Sons is positioned as both a retail destination and an experiential space, aiming to bring a deeper appreciation of Italian culinary traditions to the Naples community.
