NAPLES, Fla. — Construction is set to begin this month on a major expansion of the Mercato Piazza, one of Naples’ most beloved community gathering spots. The project, which will triple the current size of the Piazza, is designed to enhance the space’s function as a central hub for events, entertainment, and leisure.
The redevelopment, beginning July 21, aims to significantly increase seating capacity, provide more shaded areas for year-round comfort, and introduce a covered, state-of-the-art performance stage. These upgrades are expected to elevate the Piazza's profile as a regional destination for concerts, community celebrations, and family-friendly programming.

The construction will require some temporary access changes. Beginning July 21, the section from Beeline to Tommy Bahama will be closed to vehicular traffic and fenced off for safety. Despite the closure, all nearby merchants will remain open and accessible to the public throughout the duration of the project.
The Mercato team encourages visitors to follow along on Instagram and Facebook for behind-the-scenes content, real-time progress updates, and a closer look at what’s to come.
“This expansion is not just about more space—it’s about creating more moments, more memories, and more reasons to love where we live.”
Completion dates have not yet been announced, but the team promises big things ahead for one of Southwest Florida’s most iconic gathering places.
