NAPLES WOMAN’S CLUB AWARDS RECORD $362,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO 48 STUDENTS

The Naples Woman’s Club has awarded a record-breaking $362,000 in scholarships to 48 deserving students in Collier County, marking the largest single-year distribution in the organization’s 90-year history.

Founded in 1954 with a single scholarship for a nursing student, the club’s education program has evolved into one of the region’s most impactful initiatives supporting local scholars. This year’s recipients include high school seniors, continuing college students, and adult women returning to higher education. Their fields of study span architecture, neuroscience, banking, pre-law, occupational therapy, and more.

“Our program is built to uplift individuals from all walks of life,” said Kimberley Schumacker, chair of the club’s Education Committee. “The looks on the students' and families' faces, the inspiring stories shared, and the deep gratitude expressed—this is what all our hard work has been about. It was absolutely priceless.”

Several scholarships were awarded in honor of notable club members, both past and present. Among the recipients:

  • Julia Jurca, a biochemistry major, received the Jackie Pierce Leadership Scholarship. “I hope to make you proud,” she said during the ceremony.

  • Reyna Manor, a working mother of two, was honored with the Lee Kraus Empowering Women Scholarship. She begins nursing school this fall.

  • Emiliana Aguilera will pursue a degree in biology at Georgetown University.

  • Erick Tovar, a continuing student and aspiring entrepreneur, was recognized for his innovative spirit.

  • Abigail Young will attend college in Nashville to study musical theater.

The students were recognized during a special reception hosted by the Naples Woman’s Club, with many celebrating alongside their families. Naples Mayor Theresa Heitmann attended the event and offered personal congratulations to each awardee.

The Naples Woman’s Club, a nonprofit civic organization, continues to be a vital force for education and community development in Southwest Florida.
