NAPLES, Fla. — Tamiami Hyundai has completed a multi-million-dollar renovation of its dealership, unveiling a fully remodeled interior and exterior designed to elevate the customer experience at its longtime location on Airport-Pulling Road.
The family-owned dealership, located at 6780 Airport-Pulling Road N., announced that the extensive construction project modernized nearly every aspect of the facility. The improvements include a new exterior façade, expanded showroom, updated sales offices, a freshly paved lot, an expanded service drive, and a redesigned customer lounge offering complimentary snacks and beverages.
“This renovation represents the most extensive work on the dealership since the building was originally constructed nearly 20 years ago,” said Tim Zellers, owner of Tamiami Hyundai. “It is also part of a larger rebrand by Hyundai Motor Corp. to new colors and designs. We anticipate this state-of-the-art facility will allow us to better serve our existing customers and welcome those new to the Hyundai brand.”
To accommodate the scope of construction, the dealership temporarily relocated its entire sales and service operations — including customer reception areas — to a series of trailers on the property. With renovations now complete, the dealership has resumed full operations and is open seven days a week. Sales hours remain unchanged: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tamiami Hyundai is owned and operated by the Zellers family, which also owns the adjacent Genesis of Naples dealership. That location is in the process of relocating to a new standalone facility as the Genesis brand continues to expand nationally.
Plans call for a new 30,000-square-foot Genesis of Naples building to be constructed on 10.5 acres at the intersection of Pine Ridge Road and Interstate 75. The dealership will offer sales, service and parts in a premium, brand-specific environment. Groundbreaking is anticipated in June, pending final approval from the South Florida Water Management District.
In addition to Tamiami Hyundai and Genesis of Naples, the Zellers family also owns Tamiami Ford, located at 1471 Airport-Pulling Road N. The Tamiami brand has been part of the Naples community since 1973, when Arlie Zellers opened Tamiami Ford.
Today, the dealership group is led by Robert and Sheila Zellers, along with their children, Joy Zellers-Rautenkranz and A.J. Zellers. The family represents one of the last privately owned auto dealership groups in Southwest Florida. Collectively, the three dealerships employ nearly 300 people in Collier County and generate annual new and pre-owned vehicle sales exceeding 5,000 units.
The Zellers family acquired the Hyundai dealership from the O’Brien organization in 2008, shortly after Hyundai introduced the Genesis model as its luxury counterpart. Genesis of Naples officially launched in 2017 as part of Hyundai’s broader rebranding strategy, establishing Genesis as a standalone premium division.
As the Genesis brand continues its growth, company leaders say the move to a dedicated facility reflects the need for a separate showroom, service and maintenance operation tailored to luxury customers.
