HGTV’s “Renovation Island: The Adventure Continues” follows the ambitious restoration of Pines & Palms Resort in Islamorada

ISLAMORADA, Fla. — What began as years of family vacations and weekends in the Florida Keys has evolved into a nationally televised renovation story for two Naples families featured in HGTV’s newest series, “Renovation Island: The Adventure Continues.”

Premiering Sunday, June 7, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the six-episode series follows the complete transformation of Pines & Palms Resort, a historic oceanfront resort in Islamorada purchased by Naples residents Nick and Raynie Reizen and Chad and Katie McKimm.

The series, hosted by HGTV personalities Bryan Baeumler and Sarah Baeumler, documents the renovation process from start to finish, capturing the challenges of restoring an aging property while preserving the authentic character that made the resort a longtime favorite among Florida Keys visitors.

The Reizens and McKimms first met in Naples in 2017 and quickly bonded over their shared love of boating, fishing and the laid-back lifestyle of the Keys. Over time, both families established strong ties to Islamorada, eventually purchasing homes in the area and making frequent trips south from Naples.

When Pines & Palms Resort became available in 2022, the families saw an opportunity to invest not only in a property, but in a community they had grown to love.

After taking ownership, they soon realized the resort required far more than cosmetic updates. Aging infrastructure, outdated guest accommodations and years of wear led to the decision to pursue a full-scale renovation designed to elevate the guest experience while maintaining the resort’s original charm.

Construction officially began in 2024, with HGTV cameras documenting every phase of the transformation. The project quickly evolved into a collaborative effort between the owners and the Baeumlers, whose experience in hospitality, renovation and destination properties helped guide the redesign.

The series highlights the realities of large-scale resort renovation, including construction setbacks, design decisions and the balancing act of managing both business and family life throughout the process.

Sarah Baeumler said the goal was to create a space that felt refined yet approachable, blending coastal comfort with the relaxed atmosphere that defines the Florida Keys.

Nestled along the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Islamorada, Pines & Palms Resort spans four acres and features 25 guest accommodations, including cottages and suites equipped with kitchens or kitchenettes. The boutique-style property is known for its tropical setting, oceanfront views and personalized hospitality experience.

The new HGTV series also follows the Baeumlers as they manage additional hospitality and real estate projects throughout the Caribbean while balancing family life and expanding their portfolio of destination properties.

For the Naples families behind the project, the series represents more than a renovation. It reflects years of friendship, a shared vision and a commitment to preserving one of the Florida Keys’ most recognizable boutique resorts for future generations.

“Renovation Island: The Adventure Continues” premieres June 7 on HGTV.
