NAPLES, Fla. — The Collier Community Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to The Housing Alliance to support the development of a new digital platform aimed at improving access to attainable housing across Collier County.
The funding will serve as catalyst capital for the organization’s upcoming “Housing Compass” portal, an online system designed to streamline the search for income-restricted housing. The initiative is expected to address longstanding challenges related to fragmented data, limited accessibility, and inefficient housing searches in the region.
To expand the impact of the grant, the foundation has also introduced a matching gift challenge, encouraging donors and community partners to contribute additional funding. The goal is to raise a total of $100,000 in matching funds to support the platform’s development and long-term sustainability.
Housing Compass is expected to provide users with real-time data on available housing units, allowing them to filter listings by area median income (AMI), location, and unit size. The platform aims to significantly reduce the time and complexity involved in identifying suitable housing options for individuals and families.
In addition to its search functionality, the portal will connect users with local community resources, including social services for at-risk populations. The platform will also support case management efforts through HELP, a HUD-approved affiliate of The Housing Alliance, which plans to integrate the system into its Housing Navigator program.
The benefits of the platform are expected to extend beyond individual users. Local municipalities, developers, property managers, and employers are anticipated to leverage the tool to improve efficiency, reduce administrative burdens, and address workforce housing challenges. Employers, in particular, will have the opportunity to participate as Workforce Housing Partners, supporting recruitment and retention efforts.
“The Housing Compass Portal will expand our impact, strengthen community partnerships, and simplify the process of finding income-restricted housing,” said Michael Puchalla, CEO of The Housing Alliance, noting the growing demand for housing solutions in Collier County.
The project is being developed by Jantcu and is scheduled for launch in early 2027.
The Housing Alliance is actively seeking additional support from volunteers, investors, and community stakeholders as it works to bring the platform to completion.
Founded in 1985, the Collier Community Foundation has distributed more than $400 million in grants and scholarships and manages over 900 donor funds. The organization continues to play a central role in funding initiatives that address critical community needs, including housing, education, and social services.
