Summer like an Italian at Osteria Capri

Osteria Capri | Naples 2Night

No one does summer with quite so much sophistication, flair, and gusto as the Italians. With their mastery of sensational dishes crafted from simple, seasonal ingredients, they evoke the essence of summer with every bite. And now, Naples locals and visitors alike can experience this culinary journey firsthand at Osteria Capri.

Chef and owner AJ Black has unveiled his latest summer menu, a tantalizing array of classic Italian dishes and inventive twists on traditional recipes. Nestled in the serene Isles of Capri waterfront and with a sister restaurant on Marco Island, Osteria Capri promises an authentic taste of Italy's vibrant summer cuisine.

"We try to focus on the seasonality of the foods — the spring and summer ingredients. We have all fresh, simple stuff — very simple, authentic Italian. Fresh tomatoes, fresh eggplant, I love vegetables — and seafood," Chef AJ explains. His dedication to freshness is evident in every dish, from chargrilled vegetables to succulent seafood creations.

The summer menu boasts an impressive selection of pasta dishes, ranging from light and refreshing to rich and indulgent. Classics like carbonara and shrimp scampi share the spotlight with Frutti di Mare, a seafood lover's dream featuring spaghetti in a garlic white wine sauce teeming with shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops, and calamari.

Chef AJ's creativity shines in the appetizer selection, where Sicilian-inspired flavors meet Italian tradition. From tomato-infused meatballs to crisp-fried calamari, each bite is a tantalizing journey through Italy's diverse culinary landscape.

But perhaps the true star of the summer menu is the Mista Salad, a refreshing blend of baby greens, tomatoes, olives, peppers, and gorgonzola drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. And no Italian summer feast would be complete without the iconic Caprese Salad, elevated with roasted red peppers and creamy Buffalo mozzarella.

At Osteria Capri, fresh pasta is a labor of love, made daily with imported Caputo flour from Italy. From Linguine Vongole to Featherlight Gnocchi 4 Formaggi, each pasta dish is a celebration of simplicity and flavor, paired perfectly with seasonal ingredients.

Seafood aficionados can indulge in Zuppa Di Pesce, a luxurious medley of mixed seafood in a lemon cream saffron sauce, or savor the delicate flavors of oven-roasted Branzino. Meanwhile, meat lovers can delight in Beef Short Ribs braised for three hours, served over house-made gnocchi pasta in a rich tomato sauce.

Founded in 2019 by Chef AJ Black, Osteria Capri has quickly become a Naples institution, offering a taste of the Amalfi coast right in Southwest Florida.
